Security Training

Entry requirements for ALL SIA qualification courses:

You must be aged 18 years and over
Learners will need to prove they have a valid and current First Aid or Emergency First Aid certificate that meets the requirements of the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and it is an SIA requirement that training centres must confirm each learner is sufficiently qualified.
It is also an SIA requirement that you have a valid ACT Awareness certificate. This is a free online course and can be accessed here: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/act-awareness-elearning

We offer our own first aid courses which could be added on to your choice of course.

The NVQ level 2 door supervisor course is a certified course crated to meet the needs and requirements of the SIA.

This course provides the training and abilities necessary for you to work as a Door Supervisor and, once you have passed the course, to apply for your SIA licence to enable you to work in the industry.

CERTIFICATION

Successful candidates will receive their NVQ Level 2 Award in Door Supervision certificate recognised by the SIA

 

HOW TO GET THE SIA LICENCE

  1. Pass the Door Supervisor Course
  2. Apply for your licence on the SIA Website
  3. After submitting your application and making payment, you will need to complete identity checks through the Post Office.
  4. Provided you pass the SIA eligibility checks you will receive your licence via post which is valid for 3 years.

This qualification is for those currently holding an SIA Licence and need to renew it.  This is a refresher course and will bring you up to date with the new licence-linked qualifications and requirements.

Introduction to the Course

 

The TSCM Level 3 Close Protection Operative course has been designed to meet all requirements of the SIA.  Our instructors will guide you through, teaching you all the skills and knowledge you need for your SIA license application.

 

This accredited qualification counts towards your career as a Close Protection Operative or within the Private Security.


The qualification includes these 3 units:

Working as a Close Protection Operative

Planning, preparing and supporting a Close Protection Operation


 Course Outline

  • Roles and responsibilities of an operative
  • Basic surveillance and legislation
  • Interpersonal skills 
  • Search
  • Establish and maintain a secure environment
  • Understand risk assessment and ops planning
  • Teamwork, foot drills, route selection
  • Transport management and incident management
  • Venue security
  • Be able to provide close protection of a principle
  • Conflict management
  • Self-defence and dry pistol drills

After your training you will receive:

  • Certificate in Level 3 Close Protection Operative within in the security services
  • Together with a valid First Aid certificate you will be able to apply for your SIA license


Requirements

Attendees must be 18+ and bring along valid ID (Passport, Driving license or ID card) along with National Insurance and Proof of Address.

  • The maximum number of attendees for this course is 20
  • Courses run various dates during the week and weekends.  Please check course dates to avoid disappointment
  • Courses will be delivered within our TSCM Training Academy
